PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The General Arts one-year certificate program provides you with a general education and an opportunity to explore other college programs. You may select courses from a wide range of disciplines to meet your individual needs. Areas of selection include the Humanities, Social and other Behavioural Sciences, and courses in Technology and/or Business Studies. An effective career-counselling component will help you choose and prepare for more career-specific postsecondary education.

You may use the skills acquired in this program to pursue further education opportunities including:

  • Transfer to another diploma program
  • Transfer to Arts and Science
  • Transfer to the two-year Liberal Arts University Transfer program which may lead you to university programs

International students: review Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility before choosing program and course delivery.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

This program is offered online and is also available in person for students at Newnham Campus or Seneca@York. Students choosing in-person delivery at Newnham Campus or Seneca@York are required to come on campus.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, or a mature applicant
  • English: Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent course

Canadian citizens and permanent residents may meet English requirements for this program through successful Seneca pre-admission testing.

Recommended upgrading for applicants who do not meet academic subject requirements.
