ENGINEERING/ARCHITECTURE SKILLS ENHANCEMENT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Engineering/Architecture program is a short-term (15 week) bridge training offered to internationally trained civil and mechanical engineers, architects, technologists, and technicians.

It focuses on the advanced technical concepts, skills and competencies required to work as Engineers Interns (EIT) Project Managers/Coordinators, Structural Designers, Engineering/Architectural Technologists and Technicians, Site Supervisors and Estimators. The technical component is complemented by wrap around services (employment advising and job development) that is critical for successful employment outcomes for internationally trained professionals as well as for acquiring lifelong professional foundational knowledge.

Please note: There are no more information sessions for the January 2024 intake.

Tuition and fees

Qualified participants are eligible for full reimbursement of tuition fees through the Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP).

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Admission Requirements

  1.  Newcomers to Canada - permanent resident, convention refugee, refugee claimant or a Canadian citizen – the refugee category must have a valid work-permit
  2. Are residents of Ontario (includes the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel – CUAET – applicants)
  3. With a post-secondary education outside of Canada with Canadian equivalency of at least a Diploma/Degree
    (Technicians and technologists as well as Architects and Engineers are welcome in the program)
  4. Does not have a post-secondary credential in the field from Canada
  5. Have work experience in their field (or related) outside of Canada
  6. Underemployed or not employed in their field in Canada
  7. With English language proficiency of at least Canadian Language Benchmark 7 in each category – speaking, listening, reading, and writing (IELTS=6 in each category)
